Sarah Selbe is ready to talk about Jacques Barzun's defense of reading as a way to expand one's life experience:

I'm only 18 but I must say that I have lived quite an extraordinary life: I've battled orcs with the hobbits, traveled the ancient world with Odysseus and his crew, and even been to a future where love is forbidden and Big Brother is always out there watching you. But am I done? Never. There will always be something new to experience (read), and I wouldn't have it any other way.
